Call for Abstracts
The Federal Committee on Statistical Methodology (FCSM) invites abstracts for presentation at the FCSM Conference, to be held January 28-29, 2026, at the Suitland Federal Center in Suitland, MD. This conference will bring together experts from across federal agencies to share and advance the development, application, and evaluation of statistical methods.
Sponsored by the U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and Bureau of Economic Analysis, the 2026 FCSM Conference welcomes abstract submissions that highlight innovations and best practices supporting the production of high-quality, relevant, and timely federal statistics.
FCSM is accepting abstracts for Individual Presentations and Organized Sessions.
Topics may address but are not limited to those of importance to the Federal Statistical System:
Data science
Establishment surveys
Estimation & inference
Privacy & disclosure control
Questionnaire design
Statistical computing
Survey sampling & weighting
Applied statistics
Artificial Intelligence & AI-ready data
Bayesian methods
Data collection
Data dissemination
Data linkage
Data processing
Data quality
Instructions: Submit your individual abstract or organized session using this form.
Submitters are limited to a maximum of two first-author presentations.
An Organized Session submission must include at least four (4) papers, and a named Chair. A discussant is optional. Priority will be given to sessions representing speakers from multiple agencies.
Abstracts should be no more than 300 words and clearly describe the methodological contribution(s), its relevance to federal statistics, and any results or lessons learned. Submissions should not only describe a data collection program or have limited application to topics relevant to the Federal Statistical System.
Additional Considerations: Please note that due to venue limitations, only current federal employees can present at and attend the FCSM Conference. Due to space and time constraints, not all submissions can be accepted. We appreciate your understanding and thank all contributors for their interest and effort.
